I looked back in my file and here is the very little information I have. Her name is Annie Simek and she came with her family, her mother died in childbirth on the voyage, she was ten years old when she came, and I have her birth year as about 1862, she would have come around 1872. In 1878, she married Frank Sugarek and they moved to Olmos, Tx. She was a native of Palkovic, Moravia. I have no idea what the name of the ship was that she sailed on. Her husband, Frank Sugarek, came in 1865 on a small ship called the Elizabeth. He was a stow away on the three month voyage. He came with his sister and two guardians, possibly an Aunt and Uncle.
I am actually the one who sent in the information on the last site you sent me. The guy that has that homepage is great and is a wealth of information on Moravia. (I had actually forgotten about that--- it has been so long since I have been there)
I do have plans of going to Beeville and checking things out. I have been there once and gone to the cemeteries and found some of the graves. My only problem on that trip is that it was on a Saturday and the court house was closed and I couldn't get in touch with my contacts there on a weekend. My problem right now about traveling is I have a 7 year old and an 11 year old so, I have to wait until school is out and then hopefully we can make it back down there.
Richard: I do not know if you are using www.Ancestry.com, but I am finding it useful. For instance, here is a table of the results from a search of the Social Security database for Sugarek. The Social Security may not pick up people who died before say 1950, but it will give clues to descendents.
