Cocaine - ONDCP - During all of 2000, there were 174,881 ED cocaine mentions.
The number of emergency department mentions involving marijuana rose from 40,034 in 1994 to 96,426 in 2000.
In 1999 there were 223,597 admissions to treatment facilities where marijuana was the primary substance of abuse this accounted for approximately 14% of all admissions (1.6 million total admissions)
There were a total of 1,579,566 arrests for drug abuse violations in the United States during 2000. Of the arrests 5.6% (88,456) were for marijuana sales or manufacturing and 40.9% (646,042) were for possession of marijuana
According to the Domestic Cannabis Eradication/ Suppression Program (DCE/SP) statistics 2,814,903 cultivated marijuana plants were eradicated in the United States during 2000.
According to the Federal-wide Drug Seizure System (FDSS), U.S. federal authorities seized 1,222 metric tons of marijuana in 2000 compared to 1,094 metric tons in 1999.
