"Credit Union National Association (CUNA), based in Washington, D.C., and Madison, Wisconsin, is the premier national trade association serving America's credit unions. The not-for-profit trade group is governed by volunteer directors who are elected by their credit union peers. In partnership with state credit union leagues, CUNA provides many services to credit unions, including representation, information, public relations, continuing professional education, and business development. CUNA also works with related organizations to provide products and services to credit unions. CUNA Service Group (CSG) partners with league service corporations to offer products, services, and technology that credit unions need to compete in the modern financial market. When credit unions leverage their cooperative buying power through CSG, the result is high-quality, low-cost services for credit union members." Credit Union National Association (CUNA) Mutual "The Year 2000 compliance problem will directly affect each credit union. And it's not just your pure computer systems. Lots of other computer-assisted functions may be affected, due to embedded computer chips. CUNA Mutual has tried to identify as many components as possible that may be affected. That's why we've put this information here. We want you to know what we're doing, and perhaps even pick up some tips to use in your own credit union." "Your Ohio Credit Union League (OCUL) recognizes the critical nature of its role in assisting Ohio credit unions in implementing and successfully completing sound Year 2000 (Y2K) compliance plans. To date, League staff have been closely monitoring the Y2K issue, publishing information in High Spots, conducting its first Y2K seminar at the Critical Issues Seminar in December, and planning for comprehensive training to help guide credit unions toward solutions in 1998 (don't think 1999 - it may be too late!)" - HIGHSPOTS ARTICLE - Y2K

"You may be confident that we at Courts & Records [Federal Credit Union] have been aware of, and working on the "Y2K" issue for well over a year. We have detailed plans and a budget to update and test those of our systems not currently "Y2K" compliant to ensure that we fully adapt well in advance of January 1, 2000."

Digital Employees Federal Credit Union "We have already made significant progress in reviewing, testing, and upgrading our own systems. In fact, the nature of the work we do required us to resolve many of these issues long ago. We have thousands of mortgages, consumers loans, and certificate accounts that mature after December 31, 1999. We are also working with all of our suppliers to ensure they will be ready, too. The National Credit Union Administration, the federal agency that regulates credit unions, has an aggressive year 2000 compliance schedule for credit unions. We are ahead of their schedule. Currently, the most visible year 2000 issue for our members is the expiration dates on DCU VISA Check Cards and DCU VISA Credit Cards. Our systems and those of VISA International already support expiration dates past "1/00". Most merchants that accept VISA do as well. However, some merchants have not yet upgraded their systems to recognize the "00" expiration date and may decline those transactions. Fortunately, this is a small and shrinking problem. We guarantee DCU won't be a source of "Y2K" concern. Your money will be here and all our services will be up and ready to use on January 1, 2000. " - Monthly News

A committee was formed early last year and has already created a business plan that was submitted to the Board, senior management, and the United States government. The committee will report to these groups every quarter regarding its progress. The Credit Union is also making sure all of our major vendors will be in compliance. It is the Year 2000 Committee's goal to be Year 2000 compliant by the end of 1998."
