David A. Bettinger is the former Director of Business Solutions for CST2000, llc., an information solutions provider based in Portland, Maine, USA, and Hyderabad, India. CST2000 delivers customized technology solutions to its clients across a wide variety of platforms and applications, with a current emphasis on the Year 2000 issue.

Mr. Bettinger is a former Year 2000 project manager and business risk manager for L.L. Bean, Inc.’s Year 2000 Program Office, where he played a key role in the identification and elimination of year 2000 issues from 1995 until 1998.

Mr. Bettinger is a founding member and Co-Leader of the Society for Information Management’s International Year 2000 Working Group. He has co-authored three white papers and one nationally-released reference book as a member of this group. He has appeared on numerous radio and television news forums addressing y2k issues, and has been invited to speak in year 2000 forums for several foreign governments.

Mr. Bettinger has been a frequent speaker for Software Productivity Group’s Year 2000 Conference and Expo series over the past three years, and has had many articles published in leading computer trade journals. His widely acclaimed article, "Embedded Chips - Dispelling Some Myths," appeared in the May/June 1998 issue of the Year/2000 Journal and has been reprinted in several industry trade journals including the retail industry’s Stores and Inbound Logistics magazines, and the U.S. Navy’s All Hands and Captain's Call magazines.
