David C. Hall

David C. Hall is currently working as a Senior Consultant in Risk Management for ACS Technology Solutions in Chicago, IL. His specific interest area for the last few years has been Year 2000 Infrastructure and Embedded Systems. He has been involved in the Year 2000 Problem for the last four years and has accomplished research into its various technical, social, and financial impacts on industry sectors, government departments, and foreign countries. The Industry Sector Risk Assessments he has completed include the Electric Utility Industry, the Shipping Industry and the Emergency Services Industry. The Country Risk Assessments he has accomplished include several Asian and European countries. He has developed and employed several unique methodologies for accomplishing Year 2000 inventories, assessments and readiness audits for various size enterprises. David has an international reputation for expertise in the Year 2000 Embedded Systems and Infrastructure area and has been quoted in numerous newspapers, journals and magazines such as Forbes, Vanity fair, CIO Magazine, Wired, the LA Times, and the Kansas City Star. He has provided interviews on various Year 2000 issues and probable impacts to CNN and other television programs. He has also testified before Congressional committees and several state legislatures.

He is a member of the Society for Information Management (SIM), and is the SIM International Year 2000 Working Group Infrastructure and Embedded Systems Topic Manager. As the Topic Manager, he serves as a clearinghouse for all Year 2000 infrastructure and embedded systems information generated by a wide network of corespondents. He is a member of several Year 2000 User Groups. Over the past four years, he has provided Year 2000 briefings and training workshops to a variety of audiences such as community and industry groups, national and international symposia, Congressional personnel, Department of Defense organizations and numerous multinational corporations.
