27Aluminium is a high sensitivity nucleus that yields broad lines over a moderate chemical shift range. The main use is to determine the presence of aluminum or the number of different chemical sites that it occupies. Hexacoordinated aluminum resonates between 0 and 100 ppm while tetracoodinated aluminum can resonated between -200 and 200 ppm.
